Waikanae Stock Sales
A HAM AND WILLIAMS, LTD. Messrs Abraham and Williams, Ltd., report having held their monthly sale at Waikanae on ■Tuesday last, when tliey submitted good entries of both sheep and cattle to a large attendance of buyers. Bidding throughout on all lines was spirited, competition for the various lots • being very keen. Prices realised were as follows:- Eat and forward ewes, lob 10d: fat wethers, £1 Is: 5and 4-year ewes in lamb, l-3s 9d: \ and 6-tooth ewes in lamb, 14s •)d to 15s 7d: cull ewes, 6s 7d to Ms 9d: low-conditioned lanAs, 8s 9d to 9s Id.
Cattle.—Weaner heifers, 375, 395: mixed weaners, 27s t0~375: yearling heifers, £2 12s fid: 20month steers, £-5 15s: forward bullocks, £7 14s: fat' cows up to £7 4s; vealers, 32s fid, <37s to £2 1.55: forward cows, £4 to <£4 ss: .store rows, £1 10s, £1 l9s to £2 lis; yearling bulls, £2 6s to 3 5d :3-year bulls, £5 10s: unbroken H-year half-draughts. £11.
