The business people of Levin have decided, through tho Retail Traders' Association, to remain closed on Saturday, the I.lth inst, in addition to Good Friday and Easter Monday. Consequently they will he open for business all day on "Wednesday and up to 9 p.m. oil Thursday. An advertisement; to t}iis effect appeal's on page '• of to-dav's issue.
An official estimate of the quantity of products annually placed in cold storage in the I'nited States is as follows : Eresh beef, 181,000,0001b; pork, 170,000,0001b; butter, 157,000,00011); eggs, 10,000,000 cases. The limit of time of storage exceeds ten months. The charges for an average period are reported to range from a fraction of a cent, per pound of meat to •'{?; cents per dozen of eggs.
