He has been holiday making in the Taupo district, and has motored to and from that place. Seven creditable displays were made in the living poster competition at the Snowilake Eair held in Levin lust night. A most elaborate display of appropriate emblems was made by Miss McKegg in a representation of "Levins Municipal Gasworks"; she bore about her everything from a ' toast rack to a gas-meter and coloured gas hangings. Messrs Stiles and Mathuson had a Ereneh demoiselle of great beauty and height resplendeiitly dressed: and ".she" was escorted by a beau cavalier from a local sovereign store who proved himself mosi attentive. Mr C. Howe in a Ercchtlini>- suit was strikingly attired and characteristically beaming: while Mr -f. Mackie, in a red and white garb covered with enormous keys done in embroidery and with a lea-chesl for head-covering, mosi appropriately reprcsenled Keys' store. Miss Welby, tricked 'on! willi cleavers, carvers and sleel and ofhej- accessories of the ,•,,„!<, formed an incidental adverii\em"nt for Bullirnaiis" meat.
