I'AlltfS AXI) SINGLES CHAMPIONSHIPS The season Liow approaching 1 its end has been the most .successful in the history ot Levin Bowling Club. The green has been brought to a state of perfection never approached before iu Levin, and the continuous good weather o! the past few months lias made playing a pleasure. The club competitions have been gone on with steadily during the last few months. (In Friday and Saturday the final heat in the champion pairs was played, the gallic being Mduiyre and Reading (skip) v. Suhan and -Tamieson (skip). It resulted in a very even and exciting contest, the fortunes varying itli almost cv"it head unl'l the eighteenth was re:*-bod, when •Tamieson and Suhan were only a point' to the good, but from thence onward they scored consistently, and ran out winners by several points. The play of both ivaivs w;is oi marked good finality.

The singles championship contest of the (dub lias readied an interesting stage. The contestants were divided into four sections, and all play was from scratch. Kacli player in each section had to iday five games. These now have bc-en concluded, and the winners ir the respective sections are to meet each other (throe games for each player) to determine the season's champion. The final games in B section were played on Saturday, when Brown won from Lodge and Uoe won from Ingram. The latter game was a most inter'■sting one. Roe scored four in (he first heat, but Ingram played a resolute g'ame, and wiped out !he deficit.
