BURNSIDE MARKET.
Dunedin, March 4. At Burnside market to-day 174 fat cattle were yarded. The entry proved quite sufficient for requirements. The bulk consisted of cows, heifers and mediuniweight steers for which the demand was not very keen. The sale was somewhat erratic. Prime quality bullocks of good weight sold well, under good' competition. Best bullocks i>l3 to £15; medium weight£ll 10s to £12: light £8 10s to £10 10s; best heifers t'B 10s to £10 10s; best heifers -<S 10a to £9 15s; medium £<i 10s to £7 10s; light and inferior £5 to The yarding of fat sheep showed a- considerable falling-off as compared with last week's supply, only 1412 being penned. There was a good demand for both ewes and wethers at an advance of fully Is per head on last week's rates.
