Mr John Zavitchanos, an accredited representative of the National Greek Society (Hellenismos) is at present in Levin. lie is collectin.Q' subscriptions in aid of the sufferers by the Balkan War, a g'reat many of whom have taken refuse in Greece. The funds of the Greek National Society are quite unequal to the strain thus placed upoy thorn, and therefore subscriptions in aid are being' solicited throughout the | world. Mr Zavitchanos is now canvassing Levin. LTis credent- ! ials have been examined by Mr Blenkhorn, acting-mayor of this town, and he has certified his belief' that Mr Zavitchanos is the duly authorised agent of the society lie purports to represent.
