Second Edition Levin Stock Sales DALGETY AND COMPANY, LIMITED.
Dalgety and Co., Ltd., report on their fortnightly sale_, held in Levin, as follows: We Had heavy yardings of both sheep and cattle which met with keen competition. Some very prime sheep were yarded by Mr H. J. llichards, wethers bringing as high as •jss to 10s 4(1, and lambs to 17s 4(1. Most of these lines were secured by Wellington butchers. In the cattle pens were some very nice lines of forward bullocks, which also met with keen competition, and although the sale opened in a heavy downpour of rain, buyers were keen after stock
and we sold the majority of our yarding under the hammer. Two and a half _ ye»J" steers, £4 ss, £5 4s to £5 ssj 3-year steers, £fr 10s, =£0 to £< •Id; forward bullocks, £i to £7 10s: yearling heifers, £2 5s to £•'5 1.5s Gd; wenners, 20s, 23s to •'{•ls: low-conditioned cows and £3 9s to £4 10s: light fat rows, £4 12s to £5 17s; bulls, £3, £3 15s to £5 10s.
