At a'meeting of the Shannon School Committee, held on Monday evening, final arrangements were made for the school picnic, which will take place at Plimmerlon on Friday, February 20th. Tile plans for the additions to the school, which will be shortly erected, were considered, and it was resolved to write to the Board urging the necessity for various improvements. At a meeting of the Farmers l'nion held recently, Mr A. Saunders was elected a delegate to attend a meeting at Palnierston North, to be addressed by Mr Est veil, on the loading and unloading of produce at the London docks. A meeting was held at Moutoa last Thursday, when nine members joined the Union. The earthquake shock here alarmed everybody and hurt nobody. , 4 The Foxton Band perlormed a seleetiou of sacred music in the recreation ground on Sunday afternoon. There was a large attendance of the public.
