« EVENTS IN SHANNON. (Chronicled by our llesident Eepresentative). The Public School picnic will be held on Friday, February 20, at Plimmerton (not on the 1-ifeli, as previously intended), as the Palmerston North schools havebeen booked for the latter date. The bazaar in aid of the Ven. Bede's Vicarage fund was continued in the Druids' Hall on Saturday afternoon and evening. It was fairly well patronised in the afternoon. In addition to the 'adies who were mentioned in the last r.-'p'M't, the names of Miss Fitchett and Miss Wan Id in should be added as having assisted in various ways. In the evening there was a good attendance, and a varied programme of music and amusements was gone through. The Shannon Tennis Club will continue their match with the Levin Club on Wednesday next, at Levin. Shannon Sale News.—Fargher and Co.'s Sale is still booming, and the special values offered have (aught on. • There is going to be a busy time this week —"Everybody's buying" sample underwear.
