— -4 — r- . Messrs' Abraham and "Williams, Ltd., report:—We held our first Lovin sale in the New Year on Friday last, when large entries of both sheep and cattle came forward. Bidding at auction on all lines was brisk and we have to report a-most successful sale. Otir opening , sale of pigs, held on thie day, proved to be very successful, a large entry coming forward and every lot finding new owners under the hammer. Prices realised were as follows:—
Sheep.—Fat ewes, 16s 6d, 16s lid, ITs 2d,- 17s Bd, 18s ,to .£'l Is; fat wethers, 18si 3d••: ? iat lambs, 15s 3d; 2-tootli 14s, 14s 9d, lGs 4d; 2-t66th ievfes, 13s Gd to 13s 7d; mixed 2-tooths (small), Us 7d; store ewes, lls Id to 12s; shorn 2-tooth arid lambs all counted, 14s 3d.
Cattle.—Fat cows, £5 19s 6di £6 '2s to £6 15s; fat maiden heifers, £7 ss; forward- bullocks, £6 15s to £7 12s; cows and calves, £3 10s, £4 5s to £4 8s ! store cows £3 7s 6d, £3 12s; bulls,'£4 5s to £1); cows close to calving, £7, £7 11s to £7 17s 6d; springing heifers, £5 12s Gd,/ £6 to £6 10s; Jersey cross heifers, in calf to pure-bred Jersey bull, £4 6s, £5 3s to £5 14s; weaners, 235, 32s to 355.
Pigs. -Porkers, 80s, , o4s, 37s to 45s 6(1; sows in pig,. £1 7s; slips, 16s 9d, 17s, 17s 9d; store pigs, 28s 6d; weaner pigs, 13s 6d.
