[rER PKESS ASSOCIATION.} POLO PLAYEit KILLED. Grisborne, December 2(j. A distressing fatality occurred on the Matawhero, polo ground this afternoon during the course of a match between the Mangaheia and Poverty Bay Ulubs. Mr lialph Reynold, a member of the Mangaheia team, as the result of his pony falling, had the base of his skull fractured through the pummel of the saddle striking him on the head. The player died within a few minutes. The deceased was one of the best polo players in ~tho district, and was well known in polo cireles outside ef Gieborae, ai he had frequently played for the Antngaiioia team in the Sarille Cup competition. Mr Reynold* w&o ia a son of Mr J. It. lieynold, of Saudown, was aged o2 and unmarried.
