Hi. _ At the Magistrate's Court, W'illianrAash, labourer, an emigrant lately from the Old Country, , " proceeded agaiust Alfred Coy, .of Shannon, charging- him with using, obscene language on (lie public road, near Shannon. Mr Moore appeared for complainant, and Mr Cooper for defendant. Complainant's statement was that lie was in the employ of defendant, a farmer, for a week or two, when one morning two heifers slipped past him when he was getting the cow sin, and defendant used the language complained of. Defendant gave a complete denial to the charge, and alleged that complainant on one s day caine into the yard with nothing on. He alleged he Avas an excitable person, and was of such a temperament tlrat when excited he "slathered like a wild pig," and could not get his breath. He alleged complainant was addicted to drinking habits, and could not get the coavs bailed up. His Worship held that complainant would not have I'rotight the case had the language not been used, and fined defendant .£lO, and costs £2-2* fid.
