PARLIAMENT
The J louse resumed at 2 o'clock yesterday afternoon, and after some discussion on the Repeal of the Second Ballot Hill the short litle and the clause were passed. A yi'AV CLAUSE. The lion. E. Al. li. Eisher moved without comment a new clause as follows:-— ( ; i). The Second Ballot Act, I !J(hS, is hereby repealed. The Legislature Amendment Act, 1010, and the Legislature Amendment Act, 1911, shall hereafter he read and construed as if all reference herein to a second ballot were omitted. Asked to explain the clause, Air Fisher said it provided for the repeal of the second ballot. Sir.loseph Ward said the repeal of the second ballot had never been in issue before the country.
Mr Massey, in reply, said nis side were distinctly pledged io repeal ilie Second Ballot Act.
