Levin Fruitgrowers' Association
A highly interesting meeting of the above association whs held last evening in the Oddfellows' Hall. Present: Messrs M. Fosella (secretary), H. .Newport, H. Blackburn, H. Butler, T. C. Seill and Cobham. The secretary read a letter from (\\c- Nelson Fruitgrowers' Association, asking that, the following resolution be supported : - "'.that it he a recommendation to the Xew Zealand Fruitgrowers' Federation requesting that steps be taken to organise a national apple show, to be held at some suitable centre to be agreed upon, •ind, in the meantime, this association take steps to inaugurate the first show. Air Blackburn moved that the assceiation notify the Federation that, it is in favour of the proposed national apple show on the lines of J the resolution. . This was seconded by Mr Newport, and carried unanimously. The motion was seeondoded by Mi' Blackburn and carried unanimously. A letter from Moritzon and Co , Duncdin, was received asking ths Association if it could see its wav io contribute a certain number of cases of apples towards shipments totalling' 20,000 cases for South Africa, space for which the firm had secured. The matter was held over until next meeting. It was moved by Mr Neill, That the secretary be instructed lo write to the Department of Agriculture, recommending that the orchard instructor in the dis-
trict bo provided with a motor bicycle. This was seconded by Mr Fosella, and carried unanimously.
