Levin Lawn Tennis Club will open its season next Saturday, when J)r Kennedy will deliver an inaugural address. Afternoon tea will be served by the ladies of the club. Levin Men's Hockey Club desires to acknowledge a donation of 10s fid from Mr I'rechtliug, towards the funds of the club. A. donation of one guinea to the JSeach road deviation fund has been made by Mr 11. Leger. In readiness for the jam-mak-ing season, housewives are making ready their preserve bottles, etc. Labels soon will be needed also. When they are neatly done they improve the appearance of the preserves. Fifty gummed labels, well printed with the names of each fruit, may be obtained at The Chronicle office for sixpence. If desired, the labels may be had in assorted lots, or all of one kind.—
