DALGETY AND CO., LTD
Messrs Dalgcty anil Co., Ltd., report having held their usual fortnightly sale at their yards, on Friday, 20th inst., when they offered a good yarding of sheep and cattle to a satisfactory attendance of the public. Prices for sheep r\iled on a pa.r with late rates, but the demand for cattle was not so brisk, and in a number of cases vendors and purchasers were at variance in regard to value, and some lines went out unsold. Some of the prices realised were as under :— Sheep.—S.m. ewes, with 100 pel cent, lambs, 2fis 2d : fat ewes 2')S : ld: forward ewes, 21s; seven / fat lambs from the State Farm made 16s. , Cattle.- Liq-ht weight fat cows, £fi la to ffi fia: 2-year steers. £4 10s: good quality S.JI. yearling stoers, £4 Is: springing heifers. ,£•) to £0: ve-nlers, 345: polled Angus yearling steers, £•"! 8s: store cows, £2 to £2 10s: H-year steers. £C ; 4s.
