* EVENTS IN SHANNON. (Chronided by out- "Resident presentative). .The Rovers Football Club celebrated the conclusion of (lie football season by a smoke concert in the Druids' Hall on Tuesday evening. There was a large muster of members and the president; of the dub (Mr -T. Murray) occupied the chair. Amongst Chose present was Mr W. Bnmghton, the secretary of the llorowhenuri Rugbv Pnioii. Songs were given by .Messrs Exall, L.'Natlian, W. Hcaley, Jl. (iraham and T. Knyvetf, T. Simpson and Knyvett accompanying on the piano. During the 'evening- Mr Murray presented the medals that had been won to the winners. The medal given by Mr S. \V. Carter for the most enthusiastic player in the team was won by Mr AV. Moynihan. Mr TV. Hen ley's medal for the best senior back fell to Mr L. Nathan: Mr Fargher's medal for the best all-round player and Hie most enthusiastic was won by Mr V. Pope. The recipients acknowledged the gifts in suitable terms. The fun wns kept up till a late hour. A meeting of prospective shareholders in the oronosed Shannon - Co-operative Cash Trade Society Avas held in the Druids' Hall on Monday night. It. was decided thai the formation ot rules be left over till the shares are allotted. The secretary Mr Perry reported that applications for shares were numerous. The meeting adjourned till a future, date after the share list has closed on September 29th.
