Although the season has been a very early one, the Levin Horticultural Society has received a numerous entry for its bulb show to be held on Wednesday evening 17-tli instant. Excellent entries have been made in the side classes, j Monday night's eclipse of the moon was viewed in unfavourable circumstances at Levin. Fleecy clouds were about in the early phases, and opaque clouds at the totality period. The usual monthly committee meeting of the Farmers" Union (Levin Branch) was held at the residence of Mr P. Stewart, Levin, on Saturday last. There 'were present Messrs W. Becher (in the chair), J. Kebbell, P. Stewart, J. Prouse, C. Olson, and 11. J- Pochards (lion, secretary). Apologies were received from Messrs E. Allen, 13. Mexted and J. Davies. Correspondence was read from Mr T. Brown, giving his awards in the milk-testing competition, and suggesting that the winning sheet be framed and exhibited at the Horticultural Show on Wednesday, when it was rler.iclert (on the proposition of Mr Becher, seconded by Mr Olson) "That the tlirec • prizetaking sheets be inexpensively framed, and exhibited as suggested." Mr J. G. Wilson, president of the Union, wrote enclosing his cheque for £10, being , the amount of the prizes, and congratulating the winners.
