Mrs VV. 11. Field, who was to have judged the painting classes at Levin 1 Horticultural Society's show on Wednesday, is at present indisposed. Mrs A. L. Walker, of Levin, has consented to judge the class. Levin Coronation Swimming , Club sent a deputation to Levin Borough Council last night, <<> make representations as to works necessary a I tlio baths. The deputation", which consisted of Messrs H. Den ton, H. Freyborg, and S. Brewster, was introduced by Councillor Mackenzie. The chief request of the deputation was to have the baths cleared of vegetation. M'r Den ton mentioned that lie was at Hastings recently, and there he found the loealbaths had been cleared of vegetation by the use of lime and alum : the baths were so clear that a threepennybit could bo aeon on the bottom. The deputation had come to ask also for some further tarring , to be done, but the council's baths committee intimated that already this had been decided upon. On the suggestion of Councillor Prouse, Mr Denton'said he would procure the Hastings lime-and-alum recipe without delay, and let the Levin Baths Committee have it. I have just received from England a. large assortment of hot water bags of the very best quality, and am selling them at the lowest possible prices.
