Mr Wade strongly attacked the Government, principally upon its financial administration whereto he attributed the present high cost of living. Itegarding vaccination, he condemned the proposal to vaccinate infants only - who could not hit back. In view of the hold that smallpox had gained in' the city and suburbs, the obvious course was to make vaccination universal. The Government's proposal was an exhibition of want of courage in dealing with an urgent matter. He concluded his speech by moving a direct want of confidence motion. The debate by the House stands adjourned until this afternoon.
