A further speech ivas mado by Mi Robertson (Otaki) in the House oa Thursday, in regard to incidents connected with the "Waihi strike. Ho road a number of sworn statements by Federatiouists, with the object of showing that the police did not afford the Federatiionists adequate protection from attacks by Arbitrationists. He said ho had photographs in his possession of .seven policemen watching a light Tjctwcon a Federationist and an Arbitrationist without interfering. Ho had gone to tho Minister and had asked him to make an enquiry into tho charges. The Minister'asked him to put his charges in writing. Ho (the speaker) said he would do so it iho Minister would treat tho lofctcr as confidential. Tho Minister, howover, would not agroe to that. • Hon. Mr Hernnian: If you dare not put your charges in writing you aro not worth listening to. Mr Robortson: I was prepared to bring evidence to prove tho charges, if you would hold an enquiry. - Mr Herdman mado no comment on Mr Robertson's speech.
