Francis Thomas Jones, a young .man, resenting the action of a barmaid in a city hotel last night in refusing to servo his companion with drink, abused her in filthy language. The barmaid threw a glass of water 'at liini; ho retaliated by throwiiig « jug at her. She was badly cut on the face, and stunned. Jones was before the court to-day, and was sentenced to two months' imprisonment.
