At a meeting of tliß Vou JJcdo's vestry, liokl recently, it was decided "adopt tlio envelope system of collectiug church funds, and a committee consisting of Messrs Tilling, | Linsell and the Vicar was appointed to arrange for a social, at which the working of this system will be explained to the parishioners. Mr Donohue, of tho Kaihvny Statiou stu-iff. lws been transferred to Auckland, and his placo is taken by Mr Jaifuoy, of Wellington. Miss Julio Gunning [oaves Shanuon lor Uukunia on Tuesday, having | heen appointed to t*ko charge of the school in tho lattor place. I'urther notes from Shannon are •crowded out of to-day's issue.
