Ewes: Two and four-tooth (small) 13s lhl; 2. There was again a large onIcy of lambs, the quality of which wias not so good as those that have been coming focward during the season. Export buyers lowered their limits as they consider that of late they have been paying too much for lamhs. and the falling-off in quality which was to be exacted at this Into season of the year does not warrant the late high prices being paid. I here was. consequently, a drop of Is to Is (id per head, as compared with last week, and some lots showed even a iurthcr falling off in values. I'lie rate per lb was about 5-M to 5Jd. Tegs mado 19s to CI 2s Od; average weights los to 18s Gd; and light <ind unfinished 12s ticl to l-jji 9<l. There was a large entry of fat sheep, totalling over 0000. The range of prices was:— Extra prime wethers to £1 18s; prime £1 to £1 Gs; others 17s to IDs Gd ; extra prime ewes to £1 7s; prime 18s to £1 -Is Gd; medium los to 17s fid; aged and light lis Gd to lis Gd; merino wethers lGs Ud to 17s Bd. The yarding of fat cattle totalled '103 head. The demand w.as irregulfir, varying greatly at different periods. but the average price of hoof showed no change from the previous sale, making £1. Is to £1 Os per 1001b. according to quality. Steers realised £7 7s Gd to £11; extra to £1-1 ss; heifers £G to £10; and cows £5 los Gd to £10. The entry of store cattle was a small one. Yearlings made £1 16s; 15 to 18-month sorts £2 2s Gd to £3; 2-year heifers £3 10s to £3 17s Gd; 3-vear steers £G 10s to £7; 2-year heifers £5; «nd cows £1 17s Gd to £1 17s. Dairy cows made £3 10s to £11 10s: There was a medium entry of fat pigs, and the demand showed an improvement. Choppers realised £3 10s to £5 10s; heavy baconors £3 on to £3 18s; ami lighter sorts £2 10s to C 2 18s; equal to /):"}(! |km' lb. Heavy porkers mad' '£2 5s to £2 10s; and lighter £1 18s to C 2 2s; equal to Gd per lb. Store pigs wore represented by a mixe l entry, find host sorts realised £1 15s to £2 ts; medium £1 2s to CI Ms; and small pigs 10s to £1 Is. Weancrs brought Gs Gd for stnal' pigs, to 13s for good sorts.
