WE LOSE A SUBSCRIBER.
(To the Editor.) Sir,—Please to cease sending youi , paper to me from this date. 1 have been twice slandered in your paper during the last month: Firstly—-In alluding to the cripph lad whom I employ to assist me in my work as ''on off-sider." Secondly—ln stating 1 was convicted in the S.M. Court, of the chargt against me, of cruelty, etc., to two calves, in my possession. I was not convicted of the charge. Instead, the magistrate viewed my two calves and land, and the verdict was: "There is nothing wrong with one of the calves, but as ono call' is thin, with her hones showing, it was an excuse to bring the charge, so you will have to pay 7s, the cost of police case. lam .satisfied you have done your host for the animals, and you are not- guilty of cruelty." i may .say there is and never has | been anything wrong with one oT the cmlvos; the other calf was sick, and look to scouring, and I took her. in to shelter in a warm shed, and fed her. and I am in hopes of rearing her ::s a good cow yet. I may say the rase was trumped up in spite aga;ii-.t me. and that 1 can prove tlTe e is a very large number of calves in and around Levin, who have tlx san e comjjjaint that my calf ha. C'th" scours"), and that many ol the .i have died. I am, sir, yours respectfully, MKiS K. AVI I.SOX. 1 .-I■ vin. .May 27th, 191.'].
