Municipal Elections.
MAYOR RK-ELEOTED; COIL\OILLOHSHI PS CONTEST ED. At noon to-day nominations closed for the vacant mayoralties and borough of New Zealand. In Levin. Mr B. \\. Gardener was re-elected unopposed to the mayoralty ; i\x\ office he has held froni the inception of the Borough of Levin (1906). A contest ensues for the borough counoillnrship.s. Mr Peter Arms (no longer resident of Levin) is the only ex-councillor who was not rcnoiuinated to-day. In addition, three new candidates are on the list: Messrs A. Dempsey. A. E. Haswell and I). S. 'Mackenzie. The borough burgesses are fortunate in having the opportunity of selecting their councillors from such suitable citizens as the present list of candidates discloses.
[pur press association.] EKETAHUNA. This Day. Mr F. C. Turnor has been elected mayor of Eketahuna. unopposed. Ten nominations wore made for the six son is on the Borough Council. FETLIDfNG. This Day. Mr E. Goodhchere (the present mayor) and Mr A. M. Ongley have been nominated for the mayoralty of Feikling.
