Tokomarii possesses a man of marked meanness. Respecting him. it was reported to Ilorowhenua County Council, to-day, that "ho is one of those kind oT men wlio wont give the council the benefit of his dogs even; ho sends them away to Palmerston North when our man is going around with the collars, mud this council doesn't even got the dog tax out of him."
A hearty vote of thanks was passed last evening by the Levin Swimming Club, to Mr -Daniels, caretaker of the Levin baths. Mr Daniels has erected a fine high diving board., which will be greatly appreciated by. all swimmers.
A long discussion on the alleged, diversion of a water race at tho Boys' Training Farm took place at the meeting of the Horowhenma County Council, held to-day. The council passed a resolution approving of Hie action of tho County Clerk, on the matter. Details will appear in our issue of Monday.
The list of members present at the Horowhenna Comity Council's meeting this morning (in the early stages) was as printed in our first edition, but thoro was a full council later on, when Councillors James Prouse and A. W. Skcnnan took tTieir scats.
