New Zealand Axemen's handicap cup: Pope 1, Simms 2, Smith 3. MAN'S INSULTING CONDUCT WANGANUI, This Day. Yesterday afternoon as a young lady was walking up St .John's Hill a man used insulting language to her. He subsequently decoyed a girl about eiht years of age into a reserve but fortunately a serious crime was prevented by several ladies appearing on the scene. They threatened to horsewhipp the man who decamped. The police have not traced him.
