The third Servian army advanced to the plain of Kossovo where it was opposed by 40,000 men, chiefly Arnauts, with ten companies of Nizams and four batteries of artillery. Severe lighting followed, extending from Haska to YTelyagalva in the vicinity of Yenibazar. The losses on both sides wer« heavy. The Servians, operating from the north, captured the blockhouses round Sienitza and a number of Turkish positions round Kumanovo. A general attack on the town begins to-day. Troops advancing towards Prishtina were strongly opposed, the defence by the Turks in the Teneshdol Pass baing tenacious. The Servians captured the entrance to the Pass. Atijkns, October 22. The Turks at Diskata were panic-stricken and lied to Serlidge. The Greeks pursued then, and captured a million cartridges. Mr IJirrell (Irish Chief Secretary) thought that the demand was unnecessary, but Mr Redmond uttered no objection. The Labour party supported the Government in leaving the control uf labour legislatien to the Irish Parliament. Mr Ramsay Mac Donald said the English factory legislation was disappointingly administered in Ireland.
