Mr Cardeiier -aid that Mr Millar had promised that the expiv.-is should stop flt Levin as .soon as a liisli-pros-sun! water supply was availalile. 'I'ho water was now available, lint tho e.vpiwsos <lid not slop for passengers. Sir Joseph .Ward Ikkl repeated Mr Millar's promise, but it had not yet lioon fulfilled. Levin doservod better consideration in tin's matter, ft contained one-fourth of tho whok- of the electors in the Otaki electorate. Mr Lancaster said tlmt tlie people of Levin did not like promises being ignored. Six hundred people had petitioned (he (Joverninent to keep its promise, but no more had been hoard of this petition. Mr Hennessey (chairman of tho Koxton Harbour Board), who accompanied the deputation, said that if its request wore granted, tlio people of Foxton would be saved a lot of niiihl travelling. Mr Myers remarked that so far as promises were concerned it was difficult for him to say anything. Ho could only he guided by the Departmental records and files. Me promised to look into the matter raised by tho deputation.
