Lancaster, president of the Levin Chainhi-r oi' (.'idimieree. said that, the Levin residents looked upon this sand drift with fear and trembling. If the growing of lupin on the land were followed up hv treeplanting good would result. It might then lie used for military training or other purposes. The Hon. Mr Mackenzie said he had already discussed this matter with Mr I'obertson. inetnher for the district, and would vi<ii the locality himself if he- could spar<> the time.
