At a Newcastle eight hour day demonstration a resolution was adopted regretting that the Government had not given legal sanction to an eight hour day. Mr Edden, in a speech, said that a lot of trouble for the Government had come, not only from their enemies, biut from their own household. If an eight hour 13ill wore not the law of the land next, year it would not be the fault of the Labour Government.
