Tho 'body of Henry Trevascus, a metallurgist, was found in his room in a lodging house with Ins head battered in with a heavy implement and the facs, head and throat slashed with a razor. It is believed that lie had oeen dead since Tuesday or Wednesday. Nobody had entered the room, which was locked, until his daughter en lied yesterday night. The door was then forced, and the body discovered. 'liie police are without a clue to ths assailant, ; but it i.s suspected t!iit robbery was the motive. Pinned bo Trevascus's door was a memorandum stating that lie "had gone to Gonlhoum and would return oil Friday. This accounts for the late discovery of the crime.
