FROM A SARCASTIC MISS.

To tho Editor

Sfir,—Ca-ii you inform me wihio is responsible for tho rumour that the authorities intends to withdraw its decision with regard to prosecuting persons for riding on the footpaths? I hope it will do nothing of the kind, as tiho roads are in splendid order, after the recent heavy rains for cycling on. It is a glorious sensation to plough one's way on Dimlop tyres through three- feet of real brown mud: in fact it is a fine form of muscular development. I should not think of cycling on the footpaths while tihe present deluge lasts, and .1 am sure my lady friends ■arc of the same opinion.-—Yours, etc., FAIR SEX.
