THE WANDERERS

A FINE ENTERTAIN M ENT

Although the Levin Town Hall was not filled last evening the goodly crowd present wore provided with one of the finest entertainments ever given in tho district. Many eulogistic press references have been made with regard to the "Wanderers Musical Comedy Costume Co., and last evening's performance stamped tire company with tho hall-mark of excollence. Mirth was tho outstanding feature, and it is seldom one hears comedians of such allround ability. Mr Holmes is particularly diverting and is a complete master of "patter. 1 ' His "unmitigated nonsense" sent the audience into convulsions of laughter. Humorous discourses and nonsensical melodies sung and gesticulated by Mr Holmes kept the audience in a constant state of merriment. _ An item that was greatly appreciated was the luilaby " Kentucky Babe," by Miss Everil Haggio, and nicely interpreted, while the humorous dialogue "How Can I. Forget," was another favourite item and the banjo and mandoline selections of Miss Ruby Guest provided 'exceptional varietv in a long programme. Several choruses of a descriptive character were exceedingly well done, ami the popularity of a novel "Bottle Ho!" number with musical accompaniment of bottles was one of the greatest successes of tho evening. Altogether there were some twenty items on the programme, and from start to finish there was not a dull moment. Encores were, repeatedly demanded, and in many instances were complied with. The closing item. "A Regular Mix Tip." was greeted with uproarious chcers. Indeed, throughout the audience wnc kept on tho best of terms with it«elf. and it is to be ■looped Mr Stephenson and his talented enmnmv will pav another vNrfc to Levin at ho distant, date.
