Musgrove's Opinion

ON THE MT. EGMONT ROADS

Mr N. Barratt, of Levin, who built the cycle which D. Musgrove is riding to-morrow in the circular raco around Mount Egmont, lias received' t'ho following letter from Musgrove: N'IOW PLYMOUTH, August 14. "Dear Norman,—Just a line or two just to let you know how I am getting on up this part of the globe. To begin with, the little machine .you built me is just the J.O. We went round! the 'Mountain road' that they talk about last ■Saturday, and without the word of a lie it is 'absolutely the worst road I have ever been on. From New Plymouth _ to Eltham, about 70 miles, it is about twice <as tad as the Gladistono road, Levin; so you can judge for yourself wiliiat it is like! As for hills, Levin to Palmerston is not in it. I got a puncture oil the run round, 'but apart from that I bad a 'sweet' run. All the 'gun' riders (A. 13. L. Smith, Coulter, Henderson, Birch, Humm, and dozens of otlhers). I reckon it is the worst road they have been on. So you can judge for yourself what it's like."
