HOCKEY.
Thero was no hockey at Levin yesterday, but nearly all tlio local clubs were engaged. ROVERS v. TE HORO. At Manakau tho Rovers met To Horo. The ground was in a very bad condition, and To Horo, it is alleged, played a very rough game. At half-time Rovers Avere loading by 2 goals to nil, and at the close of tlio game they ran out winners by 3 goals to 1. The Rovers' goalswere scored by Noes (2) and A. Atkins (1). The Rovers have boon strengthened by t>l io inclusion of these two plaveis and Glecson and Bull. LRVIXTTOTAKI. Tho Levin team journeyed to Otaki. The visitors wero not at full strength,, and to mako up the full complement they played a •Maori, who did good." work. At half-time Otaki wore leading by 2 goals to nil, and in the second half thoy put on two more points, Levin failing to penetrate the home- dofence. Ted Henderson was able to play for Levin, ho having recovered from tho nasty accident which he met with a few weeks ago. LADTES. OTAKI v. LEVTX. A very interesting game took place at Otaki between Otaki ladies and Levin ladies. Tn the first half Otaki had much xho bettor of matters, and wero leading by 1 goal to nil at- the end of the first spell. Tn the second half Levin bucked up wonderfully, and Miss Amy Lower scored a. fine goal. Mrs Thomas, for Otaki, put in a lot of good work, while conspicuous for smart play on Levin side were tho Misses Leiver (two).
