Musical programmes will be givo<n, and social intercourse promoted, with intention of riuickoning the life and influence of the church. Anniversary services will bo held on Easter Sunday 'in connection with Levin Presbyterian Sunday School. The .school's annual picnic will bo held on Raster .Monday, at Mr A. Newport's homestead, >on Kawiti road. Friday afternoon is to be a notable day at Levin Tennis Courts, and members from >a wide radius are sure to be in attendance. The occasion is a gift tea being given by Mrs Mntier in aid of the gymkana to bo held by St. Mary's C'hnrch, after Ea.ster, in aid of the dm roll funds. All those interested in the church are invited to attend and to contribute such gifts as thev may feel disposed to. Tennis will be played as usual. Special permission to hold the function at the courts 'has been granted by the club. ft is likely that fine weather will prevail at this time of year, but to insure the comfort of all patrons, arrangements have been made to hold the function in the Town Hall in the event of wet weather. Visitors will lie welcomed from 3 p.m. to fi p.m. Commenting upon the recent sports meeting in Levin, the Manawatu Times sa.vs:—At the Horowheiilin Athletic meeting C4O was laken at the gates. Fifty guineas wort 1 ; of trophies were given and of these •So guineas were subscribed by the townsfolk of Levin. From everv point of view the meeting was'a success. As contrasting the support given with that at Palnierston the local club's meeting, at which representatives were competing from over a good part- of t'ie southern half of the Xorth Island, the gate was about £8. If there were a tram to the sports ground the takings would probablv have exceeded those at Levin.
