A most' interesting exhibition of cooking wjTli the New Model Perfection Kerosene Stove was held on Wednesday morning and afternoon on the premises of Messrs Haswell Bros. Quite a largo nnmbor of ladies* at tended ,aind judging from the remarks one heard as the cakes, etc., came out of the ovens all nicely; I browned top ami bottom and beauti-. fully cooked, the ladies were evidently very much impressed with the manner in which' the stoves did their work. The agents for the New Perfection Stove claim for it that it is the cheapest, quickest and,, easiest cooking stove on the market, including wood, coal or gas. The construction of the burner is such that the kerosene fuel is consumed

in the shape of vapour. Perfect combustion takes place, and: therefore there is no smoke, smell or soot." Further, there are two parts air to J one of kerosene consumed, hence the great economy, it only costing one: halfpenny per hour per burner for fuel. The stove is particularly valuable for heating irons,' there - being no black of any kind and the , ironing can he done in a cool kitchen. '• The stove can be lit right away in a few; seconds without any of * the troubles which were experiemced with the old' model Perfection Stove, and there hot oven in two minutes which will turn out scones thoroughly baked in five or six minutes.

During tli© morning and afternoon tlie dainties cooked were (handed roii'ncl with a cud *of tea to all "pre- , sent, and the affair passed off very , nicely. ■ demonstration is being held this afternoon, when residents : will have another oppor^ ?" seeing tho stove® working.
