The Levin Auctioneering Company report having held a very successful sale of furniture, fruit, and produce at the Central -Mart on Saturday last. There was a large entry of all classes of goods that go to make up a sundry sa.lo ,amongst which, were 60 acres of fruit. There was a big attendance of the public and a good sale resulted, practically everything offered being sold under the hammer. Poultry sold particularly well, young pullets making up to 2s 3d. each. Qutoations: Plums, Russian damsons, 2s 3d; yellow Ogon, Is lOd to 2s; damsons, Is 9d; Burbanks, 2s to 2s 3d; Orleans, 2s 9d; blue gage, 2s; peaches, 6s 9d; nectarines, 6s 10d; all at per half case. Apples, 2s 6d, 2s 10d to 3e Id; ,pears, 2s 7d; potatoes, 5s to 8s per cwt; onions, ljd per lb; eggs are now fetching Is 3d per doz net cash at the mart, and a further advance is anticipated.
