LEVIN BOWLERS AT OTAKI. ( Two rinks of bowlers from Levin Clu'h fared forth to Otaki yesterday and o-njoyed themselves in games against the local club. Principal interest attached to a game for the Kinniburgh Feathers between the present holders and a lour from Levin. The Otaki representatives were Satherlcy (lend), .J. G. Stevens, M. O'Rorke and Byron Brown (skip), while the. challengers were W. IT. Wilson (lead), J. Ryder, Pollock and G. P. Brown (skip). _ A game of exciting clia rac teristics was seen, and first 0110 team and then the other held bare, .advantages until over lialf the game had been played. At the fifth head the score was 4 all, at the eighth head 7 all, anil <at the eleventh Ihead Levin led by 9 to 8, which they increased to 11—9 oil the next set. Thereafter Otaki established an undoubted superiority, and scored (in seven . successive heads) 2. 2, 1. 1, 2. 3, and 1. making the record Otaki 21. Levin 11. On the twentieth and twenty-first -lio=acl« Levin scored 1 ami 2 whicilv left them "seven down." so that Otaki won by 21 lo 11. The green was very fast and true; in short, such a green as a bowJer Loves': and Ota lei Club is deserving of congratulation upon possessing a green of such excellence after so short «. time of existence. The Levin Club's representatives re turned home well pleased with their outing, and content to leave the Kiunibnrgh Feathers in Ot-aki's possession, as thev know that Otaki men's play was the better of the two lots. A second rink of Levin players also was beaten by Otaki, the tinal scores being as follows:- Otaki (L. St. Georgo, .T. Thompson, Bright and Ferguson (skip), 25 : Levin (Fenton, T. North, F. G.TJoe and J. G. Hankins, (s.cip), 15. Thongili beaten, Levin are not dismayed, and they will make another attempt to pluck the feathers from the Otaki birds who at presentwear them so gracefully and defend them so well. BOWLS IN SHANNON. The match for the Championship Singles was continued with the following results, viz: Gunning scored 22 against Dunckley 13, Olsen 20 v. Clayton 10. A match was played between Lind (skip), Hansen, Gibson and Roose and .Mitchell (skip), Hensma.n, Galland and Boultbee. Lincl's team won, the scores being 35 to 13. Several matches were played, and amongst the players tihere was ,n. fair sprinkling of ladies, some of whom are becoming quite expert. Mrs Barclay and Mrs Gibson showed some form that was quite equal to that of their male adversaries. TEIMIACE END HOLDS DIXON CUP. The Terrace End rink, holders of the Dixon Cup and Tucker badge, defeated a Pahiatua. rink in a match for the Dixou Cup, played yesterday. The teams were as follows: — Paibiatua (challengers): Mills, Walsh, llavill, Hewat (ski))). Terrace End (holders): Ada ins, Sutcliffe, Martin and Turner Jskip). Terrace End won by 19 to 15. Challenges are to hand from Shannon and Tasker's rink of the Palmerstou North Clnh.
