EVENTS IN SHANNON.
A mooting of tho Shannon Bowling ChVb was lield on Wednesday night. Kino new members wore proposed inclmling ono lady. It was decided to open the- green oti tho sth October. Mr W. H. Giinliing, the lion, secretary, resignod his position, hut at the request of all the members present will remain secretary until after tho oponing of tho green.
On Wednesday night tibo , "Five Hundred Cluh" held its final competition in the Druids' lodgorooin. A largo minvbor were present. During the evouing Mr G. N. Stephenson presented tho prizes which had been won during the season. r Dho first prize went to Mr Gemrge Hodk, JtiHl the second prize to •Mγ K Lrtw. Puti is not milling at his flaxmill nt Montoa this season. Tho Green Flaxdressing Company have, hmvever, secured the bloek tover wliieli Mr Puti iheld tho witting, right la.st son.son.
Messrs G. Soifert, Jos. Liggins, I'orte.r and Tfigginson have all installed Mr Greig's impmvocl stripper at their mills.
