A full rigged ship, tho Carnarvon Bay, of tons, from Liverpool to Svdnev, struck a reel' to the Soutli-East. of King's Island at (>.3(5 on Tlfilrsday night during a heavy gale. The steamer I'arcooia arrived today bringing the Capl.-i.in, second and third mates and thirteen of the crew of the wrecked vessel, who were picked up in an open boat on Saturday afternoon off Capo Liptrap. A second boat with the first mate, and thirteen of the (new aboard is still missing.
On Thursday evening the vessel was driving before a gale when she was suddenly brought up with a. tremendous crash and then began bumping heavily amid.shins. ( Ah tho masts showed signs of falling Caption Griffiths ordered two boats to be launched. This was doiie, with much difficulty owing to the heavv sea.
The. heavy weather drove the Captain's boat towards the Victorian coast, which they wove trying to make when picked up. They were rescued in a very exhausted condition from fighting against the stormy conditions.
The boat was partially filled with water and tlie food was almost expended, only half a sardine apicce remaining.
