HEAVY GALE.
— a [PKR PRESS <fl80C» .TTON.j AUCKLAND, Tliis Day. A heavy which sprang up on Sunday, reached hurricane force between Papakura and Otahuhu, levelling a dozen telegraph poles and cutting communication ivitli south, which was not restored till 8.30 this morning. The steamer Waitangi which was anchored in the stream at Oi chunga, loosened her anchors and was driven ashoto 011 the mole where she was bumped severely. The extent 'of the damage is not known. Other steamers had stormy passages on hotli coasts.
