I I'KR PREBS ASSOCIATION.] AUCKLAND, This Day. Constable Claydon was informed at 11 o'clock last night that a. suspicious character had entered the house in Eden Crescent. He discovered a man barefooted, who bolted. The policeman pursued, and overtook him, and the man drew a knife. The policeman grappled_ with and disarmed him. Invest igaition showed that three houses had bee neutered. A bundle of clothing was found oil the premises where the prisoner was discovered together with a pair of boots and sock's. Prisoner, who ga.ve the name of David Tod, was before tin? Court this morning, and was lemanded. ■wwtfana—q
