A PRACTICAL DEMONSTRATION
A large number of people gathered to hear t'lie address given a,t-the Ma.nawatu National Show, hy Mr S. R. Lancaster, on "How to .Judge a Dairy Cow," and the address and the practical demonstration was ni'iicih appreciated. The following were it.lie various points enlarged upon by Mr Lancaster:—
. Htsad: Xea't and well shaped. Nostrils should be wide .and fairly large. Head not too large, dished between the eyes, which '.should lie prominent and lively. ForeheadShould he wide. Kn'rs: Well placed with a iriee orange yellow colour inside. Horns : !'ine and well shaped, noit too long. Xcck: Should he fine an drathor long, well set in the shoulders, which should he flat a.nd line on top. Brisket: Should lie deep and neat. She should he lull behind the shoulder giving plenty of heart room. Hack: Should' hry.tiviiiVli't aiiid level, broad at ,]|.ijm. Hlitis: Should he well sprung and deep, giving plenty of room for
