Tho management committee of the Xe>w Zealand Rugby Union met toil iglht and authorised the extension for a week of the New Zealand, team's tour in Australia as requested, necessary leave having been obtained for members of the team. Tine Otago Union protested against the New Zealand Union's action in upholding the appeal of L. M. Tansy againsit his suspension by (the Otago Union for striking an opponent. Otago Union asked that the matter be referred to the English Union, as tilu> New Zealand Alppea] Council's decision was a foregone conclusion.—Exception was taken to the tone of this letter, and it was decided to refer the matter to the Appeal Council. An intimation was received that tho tour of the Sydney University team in the Dominion last year had resulted in a deficiency of Cfi-I. The following programme of matches was arranged for tho American University team: Wellington Jlll v 10. Diinediin 20, C.lhristehurch 23. Auckland 30. Allocation of a match on July 27 was held over for it'lle terms for a mi!,tch at Palmerston or AVanganni to be ascertained. The. team will arrive at Wellington on July 13. The Wellington Rugby Union forwarded particulars concerning the case of J. Marshall, a member of the Melrose Club, who had been suspended for four Saturdays for assaulting an opponent. The committee considered the Wellington Union's sentence an extraordinary one, and unan-imouslv resolved tflnat Marshall he disf|ualigfied for two years.
