THE BOROUGH ROADS AND THE STRAKER WAGON.

To tlio Editor. Sir,—Tn your report of the proceedings of the Horowhenua. County Council meetjng hold on Saturday last, Councillor-Richards is reported to have stated that the proposal of the .Borough Council re damage d'one to 'borough roads by the strnker wagon was a. ridiculous one. _ I would point out to Councillor Richards that his statement was decidedly discoufrtcous to /the borough Council, and "if be takes the trouble to inspect the roads over whic.h the striker wagon travels, bo will come to the conclusion that tt'lie request made tbe Borougli Council was not so ridiculous as he thinks. It seems to me that the only course left to the B'orough Council is to tax the st raker under tbe heavy 'traffic by-laws.— I am, etc. T. A. B. HUDSON.
