The transit of the comet does not seem to have been anything of a spectacle. A large sun-spot in the centre of the sun's disc deceived many local astronomers. The funeral of the late Kootu to Hiwi took place yesterday afternoon at the Kuku cemetery, and was witnessed by large crowds of sympathisers.
