THE SCHOOL COMMITTEE.
To the Editor. Sir,—Allow me to express the opinion that it is a matter to toe regretted that ono worthy member of the recently elected school committee should have condescended to publicly notice the public nonentity - subscribing himself "W. £\l.. I<\" There was not the slightest necessity for Mr Palmer to attempt to ■ defend liis public or private record, or that of any of his 'fellow-mem-bers, which the .majoi'ity of tho householders had already approved in the mosifc convincing mannerUnder tho circn instancies, the evident 'dignified attitude of silent contempt tacitly assumed by the rest of the school committee and community, would ihave been, in my opinion, the most ofFectiv'o course, leaving, as it did, to the self-adver-tisement seeking "W.M.F." 110 alternative but to " kennel up." With apologies for .trespassing upon your valuable space to the extent of this, my first and final expression hereon. —Yours, etc., JUVF/NTR.
